Great news

We are home tonight. My Sweetie will have to visit his own transplant team here on Monday, but in the meantime; he has been discharged. He says it was the worst recovery period he has ever experienced, but he is fine. I think it may take some time for a full recovery, but I am glad to bring him home. Thank you for your well wishes, prayers and hugs. I'll be back on Monday.

Still in hospital

I am writing from a computer on the fourth floor of the Peter Munk Cardiac unit. We are still waiting for discharge. There was a little scare the day after the surgery as we were waiting to take my husband home that morning. There seemed to be a fear of kidney failure as his creatine level had taken a leap, and his body was not getting rid of fluids. The transplant unit from Nephrology stepped in to take over his care. It doesn't look like they will be discharging him this weekend either, so keep those prayers and hugs coming. I will update next from home, or another computer on this floor. We are still in good spirits.

Surgery successful

I am writing from the waiting room for ICU vascular surgery in Toronto General Hospital. My Sweetie Pie has had successful surgery for his aneurysm...several stents were put in. There was a small complication, but the surgeon is very happy. He has not yet been returned from the Recovery Room...just waiting to see him. Talk later.
