Chocolate chip cookies with leftover Christmas smarties
I sure bounce around a lot, don't I? I planned to continue organizing and cleaning up my Craft room but that didn't happen. I started this morning by driving to Costco for the bakery pick-up. When I got back I went straight to the kitchen to make my breakfast and then I started to bake some cookies. I knew I had some smarties left from Christmas that the boys hadn't found, so I decided to use some of them up. I finished up the last of the walnuts that I buy in bulk and keep in the freezer so they last longer, and I used butter flavoured shortening instead of using up my margarine. Afterwards, since the oven was already preheated, I decided to make some doggie biscuits because we were almost totally out. My husband needed to pick up a couple of prescriptions in Amerstview so off we went. One prescription is not covered by the government's prescription plan and his retirement drug plan does not cover 100% of the cost of this drug, so we needed to pay $10 for his pain medication. I did some shopping at Shopper's Drug Mart for milk, bread, and eggs because they have the best prices for all three of these basics. And while I was there I discovered some packages of spaghetti that were being clearanced for $1 each. This is not the best price for pasta but I am out currently, and I have not found any good sales on pasta for quite some time now. The total expenditure for these groceries was $16.50 I also put $50 of gas in the gas tank but that comes from a different fund.
