Not Home Yet

I should be sleeping in at home, but in fact I am writing from my hotel room in Toronto. Air Canada put me up last night as a result of missing my connecting flight. We were very late leaving Vancouver and even later arriving because of the band of severe storms that were passing through the Toronto region. I consider myself lucky that they are able to get me out at 1 o'clock this afternoon. Unfortunately, I checked my carry-on yesterday free of charge because there was no cabin room for all the hand luggage that people were bringing on the plane. As a result, I had nothing with me last night. Oh well. I am just extending my holiday  one more day. It is a lovely room.

Back in the Airport

Here I am back in the Vancouver airport. I am on my way back home after 3 weeks. The trip was great, the wedding was absolutely wonderful, and I have a slew of photos that I have to sort through. The days were long and there was absolutely no time to read my emails, let alone post any updates on the blog. I will be working through those this coming week. I will rest tomorrow on Friday (as I get home late tonight), and then drive to Bradford for the weekend for my grand daughter's birthday party. August is shaping up to be another busy month, but I am glad to be going back.

Vancouver

This is actually my second full day being in Vancouver. I haven't had much of a chance to post on my blog yet, mainly because I only get to use my tablet after my young 6 year old grand daughter goes to bed after 8 o'clock. She has full control of it during her waking hours. Ha.

I should qualify that statement by saying that yesterday she was actually gone to the Vancouver Science centre as part of her day camp experience, so she didn't actually have her hands on it until she returned home at 4 o'clock. But I had been out myself for part of the day, so I didn't have much time to figure out more of how to use the Blogger app on my tablet. You will have to bear with me. I also haven't had much opportunity to visit much of Vancouver city. I have been here several times before, so I no longer need to have the "nickel and dime" tour. I have been to Costco, Shoppers Drug Mart, the Dollar Store, and Wal-Mart. They all look the same no matter what part of the country you visit. My DIL has had appointments both days that I have been here, which have really dragged her out. I have barely talked to her. She has needed a lot of rest, and her medications and treatments are still constantly changing.

The weather here on the west coast has been amazing since I have arrived.....warm and sunny. This afternoon my son, grand daughter and I went to a nearby water park to cool down. It was filled with families having picnics and  enjoying the shade under the old established trees in the park. I bought a few postcards today and was able to write out a few of them to mail out tomorrow. Monday morning we will leave for California and we hope to get as far as Seaside in Oregon  by the end of the first day.

At the Airport

This is a test to see if I will be able to transfer photos while on my trip. This is a photo I took yesterday while at the airport but I didn't know how to transfer to my blog.

Waiting at the Airport

So I left my house at 5:15 this morning, drove to my friend's house in Kingston and got a ride to the bus station in time for the 6:15 boarding. I slept almost the entire way. I was feeling so tired. We arrived at terminal 3 at 9:30 and I waited downstairs in Arrivals ever since. I grabbed my first cup of coffee about 12:30 and drank that while I made a call to my MasterCard service desk. I forgot to phone them with my travel advisory. I always phone ahead to advise them of where I will be so they don't freeze my account. *laugh*

That was the first thing I forgot. The second thing I forgot was putting my rings on. They are sitting on the counter beside the kitchen sink. Since these things usually happen in threes, I hope the third one is just as innocuous.
My carry on was pulled aside in Security, but I was just randomly targeted and my bag was fine. It is now 1:15 and I have another 3 hours until boarding time. The next bus coming out of Kingston doesn't arrive until 4, so that wouldn't have given me enough time for Security purposes.

I forgot to mention that my robin came back to her nest eventually. This last week I have been soundly scolded every time I go out my front door, so I am guessing she will be glad that I am gone for 3 weeks. Is that enough time I wonder for the babies to hatch and leave the nest?

Just For You Non-believers

My personal carry-on (purse) and my new carry on bag I bought on my last Caribbean cruise. And you thought it couldn't be done.
I am taking...
  •  white handkerchief skirt
  • black yoga capris
  • black Bermuda shorts
  • denim Bermuda shorts
  • teal green skort
  • long summer pants (black with white polka dots)
  • light black cardigan
  • bathing suit
  • cotton summer nightie
  • at least, 10 tops
  • 5 pairs bras and panties
  • 2 pairs of sandals (white and black)
  • 3 pairs of earrings
  • prescription medicine and over the counter medicines, travel first aid and sewing kit
  • toiletries and makeup, no bottle, tube or jar contains more than 50 ml of fluid or cream.
  • my cellphone, tablet, battery charger, extra batteries, camera, charging cords, and ear buds
As mother of the groom, I did not buy a special dress. This wedding is supposed to be casual, outdoors in the primitive forest. I will wear my handkerchief skirt with a sleeveless silk top with matching chiffon  overlay and white sandals. I will wear my newly coloured hair up in a bun and fastened with a silver hair clip. I got my eyebrows waxed today for $10. I will do my own makeup. For the flight tomorrow and coming back, I will wear my bulkiest clothes....the denim shorts with white cotton button down shirt  with my black cardigan tied around my waist. I will wear my watch and one pair of earrings. Clothes really don't take a lot of room. It is usually all the accessories and  toiletries that one is tempted to bring. If you can limit those, you can travel lightly. I will wager that I still come back with outfits I didn't wear.

I went to the post office, Home Hardware (to pick up two No-pest strips which I have hung up already), my bank, the hair stylist (to wax my brows), Guardian Drugs for my prescription fill, Shopper's Drug Mart (where I spent $44 with my coupon to pick up an extra 10,000 Optimum points) and the gas station to fill up my van. I am leaving it with a friend while I am gone. I have downloaded 3 Netflix movies onto my tablet. I have picked up all the trash and garbage throughout the house and will place outside at the curb tonight. It will be out there all day tomorrow,  (one day early) but I will hope that people will just assume I got my days mixed up. I put the compost out and washed out the kitchen compost bin. Tonight I will turn on the dishwasher and wash up everything that is ready. I will pack a couple of containers of food for the early bus ride and the lo-o-ong wait at the airport tomorrow.  I have some hard boiled eggs, and salami slices with cheese that I can eat for breakfast and lunch tomorrow. I have already prepaid my dinner for the flight at 5 PM. I am hoping I haven't forgotten anything...remembered my passport and all my tickets and reservations. Experience tells me that I will have forgotten something, but hopefully nothing too important. I will TRY to post on my tablet, but please don't hold your breath.

Daybook: Monday, July 9/18

Outside my window.....it is sunny, warm and breezy. We are not in a heat wave. It is just seasonally warm. I had a couple of downstairs windows opened this morning, but now at noon, I have closed them up and put the a/c on low.

I am thinking.....of everything I need to gather up and get done before leaving on Wednesday morning.

I am thankful for.....the phone calls I have received already this morning. They were from friends wishing me well on my travels. One call was from my friend's wife who thanked me again for the cards of encouragement and gave me an update on her husband's brain cancer. He has not received his second time around radiation on his brain yet, but it will be short and most powerful (only 5 days) They are radiating the whole brain and he is guaranteed to be extremely sick. He cannot do chemo. I told them I would send postcards from California.

From the kitchen.....on the weekend I cooked the last 3 chicken legs with backs attached, in my crock pot for 24 hours to make chicken stock and I removed the meat from the bones. (some for the soup, and some to add to a stir fry.)  I shredded and sauteed the cabbage I bought this weekend on the stove top. Last night I roasted a chicken breast and ate it with some of the cabbage and the last sweet potato which I baked.  I cut up the turnip, cooked and mashed it, then placed it in the freezer. This morning I skimmed the congealed fat from the broth, added lots of veggies and meat and simmered on the stove until 11 o'clock (which is on-peak time with Hydro). I seeded and sliced the last two remaining sweet peppers to freeze. There are only two onions remaining in the crispers.

I am wearing.....royal blue capris and my white cotton polyester "dyeing my hair shirt" that I always wear when doing my hair. I need to go shower now and wash the dye out. Brb. And now I am wearing my long flowy cotton muslin top with embroidered flowers.

I am creating.....nothing probably before I leave. I have some cards made ahead for when I return.

I am going.....either today or tomorrow, to Amerstview to my bank for cash (Canadian and American), to pick up a prescription and the spend $40 for 10,000 points event at Shopper's. I will be going to the post office to mail out two encouragement cards before I leave.

I am hoping.....for safe travels.

I am hearing.....the a/c unit humming. While I was washing my hair, I could hear the Fire trucks/Paramedics leave the station house for an Emergency. They are first responders to traffic accidents, usually on the 401.

Around the house.....I am gathering together the clothes, shoes and toiletries I will need to pack. I am still hoping that I only will need my carry-on suitcase. Ha, ha. We'll see.

One of my favourite things.....is the bag I bought on my last cruise this past Spring. It is bright and colourful with corals and blues. It is soft-sided and holds a lot of stuff. Hopefully it will hold everything I am gathering for the trip.

A few plans for the rest of the week......include the aforementioned stops in Amerstview. I will be leaving the house about 5:30  on Wednesday morning, leaving my van at a friend's house and getting a ride to the bus station.

Here's the picture I am sharing.....
My neighbour and I share a cedar rail, or split rail fence down the whole side of her property. Here at the front of the house is my Adam's Needle as it looks today. I am glad I didn't miss the bloom this year.
My lavender has a much longer blooming time and will continue to flower  through most of the summer. Look how brown and crunchy the lawn is looking. My driveway is looking greener because the weeds are already growing back in. I did not plant anything in my two black metal planters because as you can see, they are rusting away. The soil inside is really good though. When I get back I will empty them and use the soil to build up some of my flower beds.

It's Sunday and I am Leaving in Three Days

Where has the time flown? I am leaving Toronto Airport on Wednesday for Vancouver. There is just so much I have to do and it has just sort of dawned on me this morning. I have to colour my hair, pick up prescriptions and maybe start packing a suitcase. Because I will be away most of July I will need to refer to my going away checklist for closing up the house. I ran out of eggs this morning so I decided to drive into Kingston to the No Frills store and only pick up what I can eat here, what I can take with me for the trip, and what can remain in the freezer for when I get back. This time, I remembered to pack my $25 gift card that I received back in the mail a while back as the result of a class action suit. Here is what I bought.
Produce fresh and frozen cost me $20.17. ($11 for mixed berries, $2 each for Oriental mix and 2 winter vegetables, $1.90 for the head of cabbage, and $1.27 for an English cucumber....missing from the photo because it fell out in the car) I still have a sweet potato, rutabaga, and two sweet peppers left in my crisper, so I will need to cook them up or chop them up and freeze them. I will also shred and cook up the cabbage to eat now or freeze for later. The 8 zucchini I bought last week are almost all gone. I have saved some to fry up with my omelets for the next three days. Last night I made myself a large plate of zoodles with garlic alongside some chicken to eat for dinner. Friday night I prepared a large casserole of veggies and sausage topped with grated cheese that I ate for dinner and had leftovers for lunch yesterday. I cooked that in the electric roaster under the verandah. Mmmm yummy.
Dairy cost $17.98  Yoghurt was $1.97 each and the cottage cheese was $3.77 each. Coming back home, I stopped at Shoppers in Amerstview and paid $6.60 for the eggs and Gouda cheese block. Tuesday night I will shred any cheese not used up and put in the freezer.
Meat cost $6.94

My total at No Frills came to $38.70. I used my free gc, so paid only $13.70 out of pocket. At Shoppers, I was given a coupon to get another 10,000 points IF I spend  $40 this week. That translates into $10 worth of free stuff, so tomorrow or Tuesday I will have to go back in to spend money to make money. Shouldn't be a problem to spend $40. I already have over $178 dollars worth on my card for free groceries, so I think I should probably use them up, or part of them anyways to stock up when I get back at the end of July.

I already have  "Thinking of You" cards made up and ready to put in the mail tomorrow morning. On Friday, I mailed out 2 birthday cards and a package to my youngest grandson with 15 cards and 15 stamped envelopes to support his habit. Ha. I have 2 birthday cards that I will take with me on my trip and my address book so I can send postcards while traveling. I will have a bite of lunch right now and then get busy with my travel preparations. My son and I will leave Vancouver on the 16th and arrive in Sebastopol in California on the 19th. The wedding is on the 20th and then we leave on the 21st to drive back to BC.   I will be staying a few days in Vancouver again and flying back on the 26th.
Remember this Spring when I mentioned that my hydrangea had leafed out already and so it was too late to prune it back? This is the result of not having pruned it back. It is lovely, but really, really BIG. Some of the clematis is lost in the bush.

Working Outside in Cooler Weather

All this week I have pretty much stayed inside out of the hot muggy weather. The exception was Tuesday when I started up the lawn mower and cut the front lawn. When I took it around to the back, it refused to start up again. I went out a few times to try again, but nothing. And before you suggest (like everyone else) that I check the gas, I filled the tank before I started. I love my push mower because it is so easy to start normally. Just one or two pulls and the machine starts right up. Anyways, each day this week I have gone out a few times JUST to try starting the mower, but no luck. This morning when I went out, I noticed right away what a gorgeous day it was. There were cooler temperatures and lots of breeze, so I decided to stay outside and weed.
This is one of those occasions when I wished I had taken a "before" photo. The garden was overgrown with weeds taller than myself. Grass and weeds were growing through the cracks in the brick pathway. My yellow twig dogwood was so overgrown, you couldn't walk on the pathway at all because the branches had grown out in the way. I took innumerable ( as in, I lost count) wheel barrow loads of branches and weeds to the compost pile in the back. The weeds were so thick they had choked out any flowers that had been growing once. Once I ammend this soil, I will transplant some flowers back in here. Before I came back into the house at 12:30, I put 1/2 gallon of my weed killer down between the bricks. Later, when it cools back down, I will go out and sweep these bricks clean.
Here I have taken the same picture from further away, so you get an idea from the foreground what I was up against as far as weeds are concerned. There are still branches that jut out into the path, but it is much better now. At least you can walk past.
My front flower bed is looking a little sad right now. I have some Rose Campion (fushia coloured), some mallow (soft pink), and my yucca plant called Adam's needle, is just starting to flower. In this front corner of the bed I have no less than 6 stalks as tall as me. They will look spectacular when they are all opened. All three of these flowering plants thrive in the hot dry earth. The front yard which I described on Monday as still green, is no longer. It is getting very brown and crunchy. We need rain. For the first time this summer, I had to go outside earlier in the week to water my barrel planters. My hanging planters I water every morning.
In this planter notice one of the geraniums that I over wintered inside. This was a red and white Martha Washington from last year. There is no white this year. The flowers are larger and the most gorgeous deep  red. They seem to be thriving this year.

So what have I been doing the last few days inside in the air conditioning? Well.... between puttering and being crafty, I have kept myself busy. I have made a few birthday cards ahead in my stash. I went to Amherstview to Shoppers Drug Mart yesterday to buy milk and cottage cheese that were both on sale. I also picked up 3 Listerine  pocket packs on sale, spending  a total of $16.22, but saving $10.74 off the regular prices. I have been to the Post Office both to send out mail and to pick up some more letters from my youngest grandson. I had to pick up another roll of 100 stamps that cost $96.05   Hopefully, this will last me through Christmas.

So that is it. I am getting caught up with some blogs and reading about Nathalie's great vacation trip. But for the first time in a long time, I may lie down for a couch nap this afternoon. Working in the sun has made me a bit fatigued. Bye bye for now.

How I am Dealing With the Heat

People have been wondering about the used portable A/C unit I was gifted this past Spring. I do have some old A/C window units that I have used in the past, but they are VERY heavy and cumbersome to set into the window openings all by myself. The screens have to be removed first and then it is quite the balancing act to set it into the small space so that the unit tilts back to drain the condensation, but not so far back as to drop. There are always gaps around the unit that you need to plug up, and I have generally used small towels that I wrap around the unit and tuck into areas to keep out the mosquitoes and other flying insects. They did the job, but because the big solid unit sits in the window, they cut half the light that can enter.  I am getting older and it is getting harder to install  on my own. When I was given this portable unit, I was very excited.

So here is my unit rolled up to my dining room window. I chose this room because it is the centre of the downstairs. It is naturally shaded because the back door faces North and does not get direct sunlight and this window is under the front verandah. There is a plug here so the unit can be directly plugged in. It is not recommended that you use an extension cord with air conditioning units. The hose from the back of the unit goes through a plastic wall that expands from the middle and can be locked into place with two screws that you can see to the right of centre where the two walls overlap. You do not have to remove the window screen and the window comes down and rests on top of the expandable wall, so you can still receive most of the daylight that enters.  Easy peasy. This is an older model WindChaser, so I think it still uses Freon (which is no longer used in A/C). The dial on the left is a timer that indicates 1 hr to 8 hrs. or continuous use. The dial in the middle has low fan, high fan, low A/C and high A/C. The dial on the right is the thermostat. I only use the fan during the morning. As the house heats up, I turn the A/C on.  Elsewhere in the house, I have two ceiling fans on and a table fan that I can move from room to room. Right now it is blowing across me as I type this at the main computer in the front room. Yesterday it was in the kitchen as I stood at the stove frying up the ingredients to make moussaka.
Upstairs I have a bigger table fan that blows across me while I sleep. It is so warm upstairs when I go up at night, I take a cold shower first before lying on top of the  bed and the fan is enough to keep me cool until morning. I keep the bedroom  windows open all the time during the summer. I get my best sleep in the morning and today I didn't wake until 9 AM. If it were to get much hotter, I have the option of sleeping downstairs. But for now, all is good.

So I mentioned making moussaka yesterday.
I make a 9x13 pan so I slice and fry up two large eggplant in olive oil...a lot of olive oil. The slices really soak up the oil.
I place the fried slices on paper toweling or serviettes to soak up some of the oil, then place enough slices to layer in the bottom of the pan or casserole. I then use the same pan with the remaining bit of olive oil to brown some red onion and minced garlic cloves, then ground meat and spices, and finally some diced tomatoes and simmer until most of the liquid is evaporated.
Sorry bad photo. I then place this mixture on the first layer of eggplant.
Place the rest of the slices on top.
Pour the quick and easy Bechamel sauce over top and sprinkle on some Parmesan cheese.
I placed inside my electric roaster preheated to 350 degrees to bake in my makeshift "summer kitchen" underneath my verandah. That is the same window that my A/C unit vents out of.
Mmmm. Dinner is served. I had 1/3 of it yesterday after I let it cool down.  There still is two more dinners left. The best part is....it is yummy served cold straight from the fridge. No need to cook. My recipe comes from here.

I have been making my iced tea at night, so I have a full pitcher every morning to start the day. Also, I have been keeping bottles of tap water in the fridge so I stay well hydrated. I hope that all of you are dealing well with the heat. I am not getting much done around the house but I am okay with that. I know that it will wait for me.

Daybook: Monday, July 2/18

Outside my window.....there is no breeze. In fact, the air is not moving at all  so the heat feels stifling. I am sitting inside with the portable A/C unit on and all the fans are blowing. The grass is still green and growing well and definitely needs another haircut, but it may not be this week as the temperatures are supposed to remain high.

I am thinking.....of how comfortable it felt last evening on the Island. There was a lovely breeze off the water which made all of our outdoor activities a lot of fun.

I am thankful for.....good friends.

From the kitchen.....I made a pot of iced tea last night so it would be cold and ready for me this morning. I shredded a cabbage and cooked it in my crock pot yesterday. I would like to make my moussaka today but I will have to move a fan into the kitchen while I fry the slices of eggplant. I could bake it in my roaster on the front verandah so the oven needn't be on. It will last me 3 days and tastes very good cold.

I am wearing.....pale green Bermuda shorts and a long flowy cotton muslin top with embroidered flowers. (not my usual working attire)

I am creating.....more "Thinking of You" cards that are ready to mail out tomorrow (government departments are closed today for their Canada Day holiday) and a few more birthday cards for July and August.

I am going.....nowhere today. I am not sure what is open and I don't need to spend anything.

I am hoping.....my friend who celebrated her birthday yesterday has a safe trip today. She is on holiday for two weeks  to visit another good friend near Owen Sound. I know the two of them will have a great time together.

I am hearing.....the A/C unit working hard.

Around the house.....it is looking less cluttered with items moved and organized and the floors vacuumed, but there is still lots to be done.

One of my favourite things.....(need I say?) air conditioning.

A few plans for the rest of the week.....are the same as usual. If the weather allows, I would like to get some yard work done. The lawns need mowing and the flower beds at the back need more weeding. I still need to do some pruning and I need to look after the weeds on the brick and stone patios and pathways with my weed killer. I remain way behind in my housekeeping. If the temperatures are too uncomfortable, I have a lot of "sit-down" jobs I can be doing. There are no scheduled appointments or social plans going on this week.

Here's the picture I am sharing.....

Yesterday, as you know, I went over to Amherst Island late in the afternoon with a bunch of friends to help in the celebrations of both Canada Day and my friend's birthday. We do this every year. But one of my personal  highlights is the small parade that usually takes place in any small agricultural village in Ontario. I could be describing this one, or the one that takes place every summer here in Odessa, or the one in Lucan Ontario outside of London, where we used to live. They are pretty much the same. There are people on bikes, walkers, service clubs, farm animals, classic cars and/or farm equipment  all decorated for the occasion. The smaller the parade, the more endearing to me. I have never enjoyed the big city parades because of the crush of people and the traffic and the parking issues. These are parades you walk to or sit in your own drive to watch. They are very short, but people stay alongside the route long afterwards to talk and visit with their neighbours. I love'em. I have been in my share of them, with my kids, and then my grand kids. I am so disappointed that while I took two photos of the pipers that started the parade, neither of them took. I would appreciate receiving the ones that my friends may have taken. Please and thank you.

The fire department is ALWAYS represented at the beginning of EVERY parade.

Classic cars...red and white, of course.

 Service groups

A piece of cherry pie from the 4-H pie club.

 Bicyclists, of every age.

 Agricultural groups
And bringing up the rear.....

Happy Canada Day and 5 Frugal Things

It is just so difficult to believe that a few days ago we had a cold snap and now we are in the midst of a heat wave. It is very hot and muggy outside and not the kind of day you want to spend outdoors. But today is Canada Day and a bunch of us will be traveling later this afternoon over to Amherst Island to celebrate both a friend's birthday and Canada's birthday. My contribution to the potluck will be cheese, kielbasa and a cold fruit punch.  Last night when it was time for dinner, I ate the leftover roasted veggies and cottage cheese straight from the fridge. The thought of eating a warm meal did not appeal whatsoever. I am sure the same will apply today.

On Friday I did manage an hour or more outside pruning lilac bushes from the back garden and pulling weeds. All the shredded paper that I have been saving over the past few months went on the freshly weeded flower bed as a mulch. When it got too uncomfortable to continue, I came inside and made cards at the dining room table under the ceiling fan. That was good. My riding lawn mower was finally returned to me (I think it has been gone for one month). It needed a lot of work...3 new tubes in my tires, a new battery and new diode, as well as a general tune-up.  Anyways, it cost me $275. He dropped it off at the very back of the property and made me turn it on and drive it using the mower deck back to the house, which was well worth the money I spent because he was the first to show me how to use it and stayed with me in case I needed help (which I did), so now I will be tackling the lawn on my own this coming week. Yay me. I also watered my indoor plants and made up another 2 gallons of weed killer. I had soup for lunch and cheesy veggie casserole with Italian sausage for dinner. Snacks included avocado, blueberries and yoghurt,  and cottage cheese.

Yesterday morning I was awakened by a heavy thunderstorm at 5:30 but went back to sleep. Unfortunately, it didn't cool things down but added more moisture to the air. I spent the whole day at the dining table making cards and inserting birthday sentiments in the 10 card set I am gifting my friend today on her birthday. This has been my birthday gift to her for years. I make her birthday cards with envelopes and a roll of stamps that she uses throughout the summer and fall. I gift her again at Christmas. I did nothing else all day because it was just too hot to move. I finally broke down and set up my portable air conditioner that I got for free when I stayed in Elliot Lake this past Spring. It is too heavy to carry upstairs, so I set it up in the dining room which is the centre of the house and naturally the darkest and coolest room. It seems to be doing the trick. It is not really cold  because it has a huge area to cool, but definitely makes a difference. Last night I just had a cool shower and slept with the fan blowing over me. That was enough. If it gets much hotter, I can always sleep downstairs.

This morning I hung out a load of washing and chopped up a cabbage to cook today in the crock pot. It worked out very well earlier in the week. It is another scorcher, so I will probably stay inside until it is time to leave for the dock. This weekend I am only noting FIVE Frugal accomplishments that are different from the ones I listed last week.

  • I repaired a bunch of old hanging file folders with glue and 2-way tape for my new filing box, instead of buying new.
  • I made lots of my homemade weed killer and applied to the graveled areas of the drive and yard.
  • I replaced  two AA batteries in my clock and wireless mouse with rechargeable batteries, and then recharged those ones for future use.
  • I mended (hand stitched) a bottom fitted sheet and pillow slip cover.
  • I will gift my friend for her birthday with a hand-made gift of a set of birthday cards.
I brought in a small bouquet of lavender to enjoy inside.

Enjoy your Canada Day long weekend.
